Pecan Toffee

This candy is easy and quick to make. The trick is to cook it until it smokes! Then pour it quickly over the nuts - preparation is the key.

1 cube butter
1 cube margarine
1 cup sugar
3 Tbsp. water
Pecans

Cook butter, margarine, sugar and water on high heat, stirring constantly, until candy turns caramel color and starts to smoke. Pour candy over a buttered pan spread with pecans. Cook and break into pieces. Store in airtight container.
