Peanut Butter Squares

I got this recipe from a friend, Jeanne Hall, who is an excellent cook. It is one of my family's favorite desserts.

1 cup sugar
1 cup Karo syrup
2 cups creamy peanut butter
4 cups rice krispies cereal

Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Combine sugar and Karo syrup in saucepan and melt on medium heat. Add peanut butter. Remove from stove. Stir in rice krispies and put in 9 x 13 pan.

Frosting: Melt together butter and brown sugar. Remove from heat. Add milk, vanilla and powdered sugar. Pour over while warm.
