Carolyn's Sugar Cookies

I have probably made thousands of these cookies. For 22 years I took cookies in to Nate Wade Subaru car dealerships every week day morning - about 54 giant oatmeal chocolate chip cookies or these sugar cookies, which they gave out to their customers. They go for any special occasion.
1 square plus 5 1/3 tsp. soft margarine
1 square soft butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 large eggs
1/8 cup milk
4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. baking powder
Mix ingredients. Beat well. Divide dough in half, form in large logs. Wrap in Handi-wrap, freeze or chill well. Roll out with as little flour as possible. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes on greased or parchment lined cookie sheets.
Frosting: (I don't have an exact recipe)
1 lb. powdered sugar
1/2 square soft butter or margarine - more or less as you like or combination
Milk - as much as it takes to make frosting soft (like toothpaste), not runny
Pinch of salt
