Japanese Curry

Eliza Christensen

I love cooking because I love to create something that everyone enjoys and can share together. I like learning about different tastes and flavors and food from other cultures  - even though the recipes are often "Americanized." This recipe is one of my favorites - it's so good!

1 double pkg. curry (from the Oriental Market: mild, medium or hot according to choice)
2 large potatoes, cubed
4 carrots peeled and cut up
1 onion, chopped
Thin sliced meat (pork or beef) (You can buy this at the Oriental Market)

In a large pot, cover vegetables with water and bring to a boil. Cook until veggies are soft. Add meat slices. After 10 minutes, add the double package of curry. Simmer until curry is all mixed in.  (Can also add vegetables such as broccoli or green beans as desired) Serve over sticky rice.
