Chris' Fabulous Thanksgiving Turkey
Chris Hunter
This amazing two hour turkey is yummy and always moist. A must for Thanksgiving.
Turn oven heat on highest setting for 1 full hour before beginning to roast turkey. Wash turkey (not a Butterball).
Cover turkey inside and out with a paste of:
3 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
2 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. poultry seasoning
Fill cavities with carrots, celery, and onions. Place turkey on shallow pan. Turn breast side down. Bake in hottest oven for 1 minute per pound. Now cut bottom of a brown paper bag and coat both sides of bag with melted margarine. Turn the oven down to 400 degrees. Make a tent of the bag and place tent over bird and cook 2 hours, basting every 20 minutes. Fabulous!
