Cincinnati Chili
Joan Peterson
My son, Greg, and his wife lived in Cincinnati for several years and this was a local city favorite we all love. Thank you, dear Lia Peterson, for the delicious recipe!
1 1/2 lbs. hamburger
While cooking sprinkle onion and garlic powder on the meat
Add:
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. red pepper
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup water
Heat to boiling. Reduce heat, cover and cook 1 hour on low, stirring occasionally.
1 (16 oz.) pkg. spaghetti, cooked and drained
1 can red kidney beans, heated
Layer in individual serving bowl: spaghetti, beans and meat sauce, then top with grated cheese, diced onions and sour cream.
