Cranberry Mold
Dorothy Anderson
I make this for Thanksgiving. It's a family favorite.
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2-3 cups cranberries
3 pkgs. (3 oz. each) raspberry Jello
2 cups cold water
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Lettuce leaves
Boil sugar and water. Add cranberries to boiling sugar and water. Reduce heat, simmer 7 - 10 minutes until cranberries pop. Drain, saving liquid. Add water to liquid to make 2 cups and return to boil. When boiling pour over Jello until it dissolves. Stir in cold water. Pour half of the mixture in another bowl. Chill both until like egg whites. Whip sour cream and add to one bowl of jello mixture and pour into mold. Chill. Add cranberries and nuts to other Jello. Spoon into mold on top of sour cream jello mixture. Chill three hours.
