Brownies
Cheryl Burnett - These are the best brownies ever! It's a family recipe that is always requested at family gatherings.
Sandra Allen - I have made this recipe thousands of times. With my seven children it was always a fast, good recipe for Cub Scouts, Young Men or Young Women, or dessert for dinner.
2 sticks butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1/3 cup cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla (Sandra's - 2 tsp. vanilla)
2 cups flour
Combine ingredients and pour into greased 9 x 13 pan. (Sandra recommends - Put foil going each way in a 9 x 13 pan, spray with oil, then pour in the batter. No sticking this way! After brownies are baked, cool completely for one hour then turn over the brownies so they are out of the pan; cut off the edges, then cut into squares. May sprinkle with chocolate chips or nuts if desired before baking.) Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes. If doubling, use jelly roll pan/cookie sheet.
Frosting:
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 stick butter
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
Milk
Combine powdered sugar, butter, cocoa, and vanilla. Add milk until desired consistency. Spread on cooled brownies.
