Chocolate Fondue
Mary Andolsek
Bill and I have been doing fondue dishes for over 40 years and particularly love to gather the family and have fondue on New Year's Eve. This is by far the best chocolate recipe we have - we got it from the mother of our daughter's old boyfriend.
1 (12 oz.) bag of semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
1 cup butter
4 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
2 tsp. vanilla
Boil everything BUT the vanilla. Boil 8 minutes, stirring constantly. AFTER 8 minutes, add vanilla, stir and put in fondue pot.
We dip fruits, marshmallows, sponge cake, etc using skewers or forks and roll in nuts sometimes after we dip. Feel free to pour over a dish of ice cream or a spoon works great too if you want to sneak some when it is cooling down or in the refrigerator.
