Ren's Camping Pickled Eggs

My younger brother, Ren, would make these eggs for all our camping trips...If you like pickled eggs you'll love this.

1 dozen eggs
1 1/2 cups vinegar (white or apple)
1/2 cup water
2 Tbsp. salt
1 clove garlic cut into halves
1/8 tsp. celery seeds
3 peppercorns
2 whole cloves in each egg
1 small piece whole mace (sprinkle)

Hard boil eggs; peel, set aside. Combine vinegar, water, salt, garlic, celery seeds and peppercorns. Bring to boil, simmer 5 minutes, pour hot over eggs and let stand over night (covered). Serve with whole cloves inserted in each egg and sprinkle with mace.
