Easy Baked Ziti

Natalie Fredrick (Nate's wife)

I love this meal for feeding a crowd - and we always feel like we have a crowd at our house! I especially like to make this when we have lots of cousins over for Sunday dinner - and there are lots.... 65 Fredrick cousins to be exact and that could change at any moment!  This dish is also a great meal to make in several pans and freeze.

1 (16 oz.) pkg. dry ziti pasta
1 onion, chopped
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 (26 oz.) jar traditional spaghetti sauce
1 (26 oz.) jar Italian Sausage and Garlic spaghetti sauce
1 (8 oz.) pkg. provolone cheese, sliced
1 (8 oz.) pkg. mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1/8 cup grated parmesan cheese

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.  Add ziti pasta and cook until al dente (about 8-10 minutes) and drain. In a large skillet, brown onion and ground beef over medium heat. Add spaghetti sauce and simmer 15 minutes. Grease a DEEP 9 x 13 baking dish.  Layer in the following order:  1/2 of the ziti, provolone, sour cream, sauce mixture, and mozzarella. Then add another layer of the ziti, provolone, sour cream, sauce, and mozzarella.  Top with grated Parmesan cheese.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until cheeses are melted.
