Andrea's Lemon Ice Cream

This is the ice cream I made for this year’s (2017)  ice cream social, and several ward members asked me to include it in our cookbook.

6 cups half & half
3 cups granulated sugar
Juice of 6 lemons (about 1 ¼ cups)

4 tsp. grated lemon zest


Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.  Whisk until the sugar is dissolved and it is mixed well.  Using an ice cream freezer, freeze according to the freezer manufacturer’s directions.  Place churned and frozen ice cream in the freezer to firm up before serving.
