Pumpkin Pie
Mary K. Jones
This was my mother, Nola C. Muhlostein's, recipe. I still have the recipe on the original recipe card, typed on a type writer. It's a family favorite.
3/4 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 beaten egg yolks
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups canned milk
1 cup pumpkin
Baked pie shell
Mix together sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt. Stir in milk and pumpkin. Cook over hot water for 20 minutes. Remove and stir into beaten egg yolks. Return and cook 2 minutes. Cool. Pour into baked pie shell.
