Marinated Flank Steak

Flank steak used to be a cheap cut of meat when I first got married - not any more!

1-1 1/2 lbs. flank steak
3/4 cup maple syrup
2 tsp. soy sauce
1/4 cup vinegar
2 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Put steak in shallow baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over meat. Refrigerate 24 hours turning several times. Remove steak from marinade and put in broiler pan. Broil 5 inches from heat about 5 minutes each side for medium. Starting at narrow end cut in thin diagonal slices on grain.
